2 Ingredient Dough Garlic Knots (gluten-free, nut-free)

If they say the key to their heart is garlic, make them these this Valentine's Day. With a dough made from just 2 ingredients you probably already have at home, these simple garlic knots are just what you need!
 
This recipe features our Queen Street Bakery 1-for-1 Superfood Baking Flour - the perfect gluten-free substitute for regular wheat flour in all your favourite recipes. Made with two naturally gluten-free superfoods; millet seed and sorghum, this flour gives you 2x the fibre and 3x the iron of regular wheat flour, so you can feel good about every bite.

2 Ingredient Dough Garlic Knots (gluten-free, nut-free)

INGREDIENTS:

Dough:

Optional (but highly recommended):

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp italian seasoning

Topping:

  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 500F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper of a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Queen Street Bakery 1-for-1 Superfood Baking Flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder and italian seasoning.
  3. Add yogurt and mix with your hands until dough comes together.
  4. Dust work surface lightly with a bit of extra flour and transfer the dough to the work surface. Knead, adding more flour as needed until dough is soft but holds together well.
  5. Divide dough into 6-8 even pieces. Working one at a time, roll each dough ball into a log and gently tie into a knot. Place each knot onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the oven for 12-15 mins, until golden brown and cooked through. 
  7. While knots are baking, combine all ingredients for the garlic butter topping.
  8. When knots are removed from the oven but still warm, brush with the topping and cool for 5-10 minutes. Enjoy!
